Greenwich Park is a park located in Greenwich, in the southeastern suburbs of London, England. It is one of the eight royal parks in the capital and the first one to have been fenced.
It currently covers a total area of 70 hectares, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site because the site is home to the Royal Greenwich Observatory, starting point of the prime meridian.
The meridian of Greenwich is a first meridian, that is to say a meridian where the longitude is defined as equal to 0°. It passes through the Royal Observatory of Greenwich, in Greenwich (suburb of London), in the United Kingdom. It meets the European continent at Villers-sur-mer where
A museum, the Paleospace Odyssey offers interpretation. With the 180th meridian that is directly opposed to it, it defines the eastern and western hemispheres.
